Topic: 4-Wheeling | |
---|---|
Well I have had my JEEP going on 2 yrs NOW & I have never really went 4-wheeling in it! I read the BOOK & it say's to be going 2 to 3 miles an hr when shifting into 4-wheel so i have been working on that & since it's a NEW JEEP 07 it has never been put into those gears! I had the BOOK, but it diapered? I need a NEW one I know! I can get into 4-wheel HIGH just fine, but not LOW to do this I need to stop & put it in (N) then go to 4-LOW if I do it while going 2 to 3 MPH it sounds like i dropped my TRANNY? Who know's about this stuff...........

I truly wish I knew what you was talking about. Now if you had of asked me how to replace a alternator in a '87 Oldsmobile. I may have been of some use.
I ride a skateboard. this is out of my element, but I just wanted you to know I read your post and I hope someone. probably more manly than me can help you with this. |

Uhhh if the truck clunks or bangs when you put it in 4wd you're doing it wrong. Make sure the transmission is in neutral before you shift the transfer case.

Jeep trannies are very tough. When I switch mine from low to high or from high to low, I have found it best to be on level ground and just barely moving. Just push on the lever with a few pounds pressure and it will drop into place when the gears line up. It really is not that much difference from shifting a manual shift car. Do NOT try to cram it into low. If you are not moving and the gears do not line up, it just won't shift.
If it doesn't shift with a few pounds pressure and the jeep stops, just start all over and get the jeep rolling a little faster the next time and apply a little more pressure to the shift lever til it falls into place. The chance of hurting the transmission is zero. |
