On onther site, I sent a message to a female, and she replies, "Thank you but your to old for me"
lmao, just cause I compliment a women, does not mean that I want to date her??? 
I was brought up to be nice and polite to others, I thought I was being nice, just commenting on her smile, and now I want her ????? Oh well, hope everyone is having a great weekend. |

I've had people compliment me and after thanking them, they continued to post to me. Not wanting to encourage them, I stopped writing. So, on these sites, guess it goes both ways.

I think it’s nice to send people compliments even if they aren’t my type. It’s nice that you do as well.
When I send an email I always introduce myself and say, “I realize we are not a match but (fill in the blank with compliment)". I usually get a pleasant reply back of thank you without them feeling like I’m trying to pick them up. |

Exactly. I try to be polite when people I may not be interested in approach me via email, however, I realize this is a dating site and most people are not wasting time sending emails to strangers just to be nice. They are looking for something. If I'm sure I'm not what they're looking for I tell them pretty quick. |

see im on the opposite side..usualy when i send the compliment its because i want to use it as a icebreaker..but if they sent me a thanks but not interested id be ok with that cause i know they probably hear it alot and just figure its another person trying to hit on them

Girls who don't feed off of the superficial compliments can weed-out the bad ones for the sincere compliments. It's nice to hear a meaningful - he's not trying to get into my pants - compliment. These are rare and appreciated by MOST women.
