There is definitely a double standard here. Elitism, and cliquishness,
and resistance to change. The GUYS thread is not even the best example,
people were only mildly rude to the newcomer, but we've all seen that
double standard in action.

And don't please don't add power to the myth that "everybody loves
Morena" , that is simply not true. But you are right, in
that she is 'an established member', so the double standard works to
her benefit.

To me Morena is a strong person, speaks her mind, is decent to all, but
just another member, no god figure to it.
I came here, lurked in the shadows, finally got to posting & that let me
get to know people.
New members need to just get involved.
Maybe their post has been done several times (seen that) & folks are
just bored with it.
If people are expecting INSTANT GRATIFICATION here, it doesn't happen.
Maybe I missed something, but I see this as typical of all cyber sites.

Well my comment to the Newbies at time not being giving a chance before
someone bashing them or lashing out with some smart ass remark. Yep it
happens have seen it happen many times over. And at one time or other I
may have went right along with the ones doing it. Not sure but I'm not
innocent of it and very few around here are.


But now as far as Mentioning the older members as the ones doing it
think we need to re-group on that one for I have seen those that have
come here since the last big rush also be right in there with there
remarks. At times they are very harsh to them. Because they post a
thread which has been done about 20 times already. WEll my thoughts on
that is show me a thread that has not been done over and over and you
win first prize. But if you go back and pull those threads I bet the
opinions are different than before and even worded differnt.


As far as repeat threads that to me are wasted are the ones that don't
talk about anything someone just wanted to post. Humm what color is the
sky today. Okay I say they are wasted to me but have lately looked at
some of these and ya know what those are getting more post
shsssssssssssshsss.

So lets welcome the Newbies, have fun and all understand we have our bad
days as well as our good days.

But as I said it is not just one group doing that and yeah maybe us
oldies do get a way with a tad more than some do. But I promise ya if we
do it is also because to get there we had to put in 100% to get that
respect from Mike and Van. There fore the old saying you scratch my back
and I'll scratch yours. Not saying that is how some have gotton away
with a few things but sure it has not hurt at all. Yeah I feel as if
I'm guilty of getting away with a few things I most likely should not
have. But then I have also helped with the problems to get
solved in the long run.


So we all need to make and efford each day we are here to welcome at
least 3 Newbies each day do you realize if we do that it only takes
about 3 minutes and whoooooooooa sure makes them feel better if you see
everyone going to one post skip it and go to the one that no one is
welcoming them on.

grouped in the same area. Why cause I don't post to those Hell ani't

Yeah we do need threads put in certain areas for sure. But Mike and Van
are working on it and doing great just takes time and too much for jsut
2 to do. Maybe if we could do it agree on what needs attention first
like the above me and below me threads lmao hummm now ya know I had to
throw that in first. They could give a couple of people the knowledge to
move them all in one area. And go from there.

I almost left this site a month after I joined cause of a certain thread
that made me feel like I was interfering with the oldis, but I hung in
there and glas I did cause I have mat some of the best folks Ive ever
known!!!

The only ones that GET IN are the persistant ones and even then the next
step is whether they fit in the CLICK and I most definatly do not fit
in. There have been very few acknowledgements to any of my posts so I go
on to other threads or just get off the site. If the people from these
clicks could remember when they signed up they didn't know everyone here
and had to be alittle nervous themselves others would have a chance.
I was in a thread last week and a newbie started a post and the second
comment was "already did this thread" I wanted to scream. She woman
couldn't have known that cuz she was new.
I just found out yesterday that you could still send and recieve message
after you deactivate, who knew. And as for bashing I have to get right
out of the thread cuz I can't stand the to see that and then they turn
around and have a pity party in honor of another "high and mighty" on
another subject. The only one I agreed was an azzhole and deserved what
he got was the punk that posted the "old and ugly". If he wasn't happy
he should've just left. I think this post should keep being brought up
to the front so that all can see just incase anyone misses before it is
buried.
This is the only site that I am on, I have been here five months? I've
met some really nice people and would like to meet more. P.S. This is
the longest post I have on here

Why That the regulars target the newbies.

Well lets just say some do. Hm like a few of us,in August it will be a
year I've been here and I've seen a few people come and few people go
for what ever reson but the ones that leave because of how some might
persent themseves are not giving this place a chance. Ones person
mistake can't be blamed for everyone but the funny thing is most
everyone that is on this thread has at least one time or another and
that mean you to Song has messes with newbies but the pones that keep
doing it don't know how to change and I feel they feel it makes them
feel better about themselves because of there own issues. today I try to
learn from my mistakes and move forward. I just stay away from people
like that

I agree shadow I definatly have my favorites on here but Im always
willing to make new friends and listen to others points of view!! I may
not agree with them, but everyone on this site has a right to post and
we should all respect that and encourage it!!

There are a lot of us that read all of the posts in a particular thread,
and only respond to things we feel very strongly about. We aren't
ignoring you, we are reading and thinking about what you have to say;
but don't have anything further to add, ourselves.

Thanks for sharing that.

While I do see the cliquishness and elitism, I also think people (old
and new, but more so the new people) should do a little learning about
what other's in the community (both old and new!) view as 'appropriate'.

I don't mean that regarding you experience, I just mean in general.
