Ja, warum? Ich nehme alles, auch wenn es schlecht ist. Nein, nicht wirklich. I'm learning German, hehe. i need to learn. i know very little and i'm hoping to move there in a couple of years. . . . |

Pretty easy, actually. A lot of the words when they're spoken sound almost identical to the English word. The problem is that they have different meanings for the same word depending on context (formal, informal, professional, etc.).

They will definitely know you are a foreigner. Haha. yeah, but they don't mind. they actually like that you try to speak in german. most of them have learned english in school, but they don't use it regularly and are a bit shy to speak it. . . . |

That's true, basic German should be alright. Dialect comes with time, and they are pretty cool about it as long as you are at least attempting to speak their native language.

Just wondering if you had a friend of the opposite sex...........been close for years & they only lived & worked an hour away from you  would you give it a shot & try living together for a couple of weeks just to see how things go?  Or do you think that could ruin the (FRIENDSHIP)  
Absolutely ! It's best to be friends first, and the longer, the better, in my opinion. |

That's true, basic German should be alright. Dialect comes with time, and they are pretty cool about it as long as you are at least attempting to speak their native language. i just got back a month ago and i had a blast. i have family over there and they're always really cool. some of them speak english which is good for me, but it makes me lazy. i don't have to try to learn as much. . . . |

I always get the ones that when things go bad there is no more friendship.. Make sure you want to put the extra effort in keeping your friend as well as making him/her yours.. |

I used to go with a girl from Germany and was in a long term relationship with another girl who spoke German as her first language. German's awesome! I dated another girl that speaks four different languages, but none of them sounded as neat as German. Until she got angry... then it was just freaky. Haha. this girl i went to grade school(and junior high) with her family moved to oregon from germany. and her mom was our bird bird leader she taught us a song for our troop. we were called the german blue birds.. |

Approximately 99.9% of my closest friends are male and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am not willing to take the risk. Every relationship I have ever had ended because of cheating on his part. So when I break up with someone it is because I have no desire to see or speak to them.
