...and start feeling controlling? I recently ended a relationship with someone, not from this site, who said he wanted me by his side at all times...I thought...isn't that sweet, though I'm not really a 'joined at the hips' kinda person...but then I discovered he meant it. He started picking apart my friends, didn't want to meet my family members, the last straw was when he 'ordered' me to get off Mingle...ya see how well ordering me to do anything work out for him! 
Have any you experienced this, and what point does it stop being cute and start makin the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? 
it depends upon the person, obviously. For someone who enjoys constant one on one companionship, it probably would always be cute until it turned into CONTROLLING behavior,, for instance,, someone who wants to be at my side, wants me to continue to be happy and to SHARE those moments with me, someone who wants to control what makes me happy or who,,,is just a jerk....in my opinion |

Seriously though control issues are bad, not healthy for a relationship at all. My ex tried to control me, she found out that doesn't fly with me. We really cannot control anyone but ourselves. So if a man thinks I am controlling because I want to spend time wiht him, but he usually prefers to go & get drunk with his buddies. That's a problem, and he is not the man for me. It took me awhile to learn that. Rather than complaining about not being a priority to him, now I just walk away. He never understands why and acts hurt. Shoulda noticed that something was wrong B4 IMO... And I have started looking at another, different type of man - one who actually likes & values women (me, in particualr) - not the type who wants sex and a sammich and then for me to get out of his face so he can lose money at poker - those days are over....so to the prospects out there...if that sounds like u , u can stay away from my profile (& u know who u are...) 
JUST WANT TO CLARIFY ON HERE THAT I AM NOT REFERRING TO ANY PARTICULAR MEMBERS OF THIS SITE IN MY POST. I WAS ACTUALLY THINKING OF A COUPLE OF RECENT SHORT TERM RELATIONSHIPS THAT ENDED LONG BEFORE I CAME TO MINGLE2....SO IT'S NOT A PERSONAL SHOT TO ANYONE ON HERE. We are meeting again next month and figuring out things for the future!! A a specail couple of friends on here that have offered U s a week in Cali, I have always loved Oregon and could settle down there with NO problen!!I wont mentont the couple on here!!

word of advice to all : learn the difference betweena sincere desire for companionship and a deep desire for control,, and when you meet those insecure, controlling types,,,,RUN!!!!! |

Well, me personally, if im in a relationship with a gal, and I really love her, and she's truely my best friend, I would love her to do everything and go everywhere with me, however, thats the kind of arrangment that should be agree'd upon, and not just taken for granted. I don't blame you for putting the kabosh on it one bit

His wanting me at his side all the time was only part of the issue, it was all of it combined that had me runnin'. Besides his ordering me to leave Mingle, his not accepting Buttercup, my dog, was the topper, insisted I was giving her away. I made no secret I had a dog. She is very well behaved, housebroken, good with kids and other animals...she steals the hearts of most folks she meets, but she barks when strangers come around and she sheds.... she's a dog, they've been known to do that!
