This is an interview with Kevin Tancharoen, the guy behind the Mortal Kombat Rebirth short film. Interestingly enough, the guy who created this absolutely badasterisk short was responsible for Fame(?) and if Warner Bros. lets him make the MK movie he has every intention of including the mystical elements, fatalities, and keeping it a revenge drama in the same style such as Oldboy.

This sounds cool! I have to admit I'm a big fan of the original movie- it was a great theater going experience, the whole audience was into it. Plus, it was the very first time I ever heard an audio commentary when I bought it on laser disc.

When I saw the first Mortal Kombat movie in the theater I remember clarifying to my sister afterward that this was my favorite movie ever, and quite possibly one of the best pieces of cinema ever made.
My opinion has changed a little bit over the years, but I still like it. Haha. I just love how bloody dark this is, which is what I think is really most iconic about the series. |

Game sneak peek trailer for a new Mortal Kombat touted for a 2011 release on PS3, and XBox 360. I love Mortal Kombat. This movie will quite possibly be the best Mortal Kombat movie if Kevin Tancharoen does what it sounds like he is going to do with it. |
