The old record player that played the 45s and 78s. family gathering around to string popcorn and paste up paper chains to decorate the christmas tree. The old wood bridge that I used to walk over in the moonlight, listening to the crunch of the sparkly snow as my foot took a step. I miss sitting at the counter of the soda fountain down at the five and dime while listening to Patsy Cline on the juke box. Or, sitting around the only radio in the house with family to listen as Lorrita Lyne sang her heart out. The old rollor skates that you had to have a key for. I miss the days that a handshake was your bond. Mood rings, and pet rocks. Black lights, and black sabbeth posters on the walls. Jimmy Hendricks posters. Real ty sticks.

Oh Yea. Old time swapmeets. Where you would see and walk down rows and rows of nothing but USED things. All you see now is new things. Might as well go to the mall.

My washboard abs. And hope that I'll find someone someday. I'm not sure how being pretty, inside or out, can result in washboard abs. I'm gonna stick to sit-ups to see if I can find 'em. I'm thinking now they might be like A&W stands and drive-ins...we have both of those here in VT. My abs might not be extinct either! |

Jarts- the ones with the real metal tips that could go astray and cause serious injury if hit.
Sleds that were metal and wood instead of all the plastic discs you see now. I know they may still make wood sleds, but the price is so high, most families have to go with the plastic versions. Being able to own a horse in town. Our next door neighbors used to have a horse that stayed in their garage...how cool. I'm sure it's against zoning laws now. |
