Post a pic of any weird wacky off the wall car, truck, bike, plane, and anything in between... ![]() REDD FOXX's "L'IL RED WRECKER"Designed by George Barris ![]() "CALICO SURFER"Designed by George Barris Sorry to correct you Torgo, I know too much about that truck. It was built by Dick Dean, not Barris, and it was originally built as the Show Rod called Freeway Hauler. It was later altered for Red Fox, ruined, in my opinion. I did try to purchase this truck some years ago, as it sat in a Tow Yard in Ohio; I had hopes of returning her to her original glory. Was even lucky enough to have talked to Dick Dean a few times about his creation, Freeway Hauler. |

I did try to purchase this truck some years ago, as it sat in a Tow Yard in Ohio; I had hopes of returning her to her original glory. Was even lucky enough to have talked to Dick Dean a few times about his creation, Freeway Hauler. I stand corrected :) I was just going by George Barris' Website. Dick Dean built the original Freeway Hauler, but Barris re designed it into Redd Foxx's L'il Red Wrecker. http://books.google.com/books?id=p5Wnfdt2Yi8C&pg=PA69&lpg=PA69&dq=dick+dean+freeway+hauler&source=bl&ots=1Gw6qHr2Lc&sig=RhG4FkYfXE11XeRydny2fKNxkVo&hl=en&sa=X&ei=3LkhUOXhCInSqQGD8IHAAg&ved=0CFEQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=dick%20dean%20freeway%20hauler&f=false |

Torgo70, Anything Barris says he did, if you consider it a lie your probably closer to the truth. Barris is notorious for taking credit for the work of others. California Customs altered Freeway Hauler for Red Fox, that's where Dick Dean worked. In his letters to me he expressed his distaste of those alterations.
Also of interest Freeway Hauler was a piece of Art, metal art, not plastic, but she was not a functioning ride, one of Red Foxes alterations, and perhaps the only one I agree with was to make her function. |

I started building (Barney)in Oct.2012.I was going to be in a layoff then(2nd time)and got tired of moving! So i bought (Barney)they used it as a hunting cabin. Its a 87 Ford Schools 66passenger.I drove it home!My daughter named it because its Big and Purple!I'm still working to finish the outside but i've lived in it a year now.Its in my profile,i don't know how to post it here or i would"It keeps me out of trouble"Most Women want Material and Money around here and i'm "too gullible"as my daughter stated in believing people!Don't have that problem now!!!And i drive it Everywhere!!
