Ashtrays overflowing
‘tho I just emptied them. Damn never-ending chore. Put one out, light one up. Damn never-ending dance. Almost like skin, the urge encases me. Damn never-ending cloak. Jacksons converted daily, burned in effigy. Damned never-ending ritual. Warnings ignored, smoke doesn’t always indicate fire. Damn never-ending signals. Rationalizations bloom thicker than the toxic surroundings. Damn never-ending cloud. Death awaits with a cigarette pursed between Her lips. Damn never-ending destination. Tried to stop once twice, three times a lady, sang with a hoarse rattle. Damn never-ending battle. Every respiration, a trigger. If only I could stop breathing. “Your wish is my command” She croons. Damn never-ending addiction. ![]() |

Thank you both.
![]() Nice! Good structure change at the end Structure? Am I suppose to have that in my writing? I know not of what you speak. Meters, stanzas? These things are foreign to me. I just write crap when I'm bored. ![]() |
