We have several surprise restaurants in Sacramento. My favorite is called The Kitchen. It’s so exclusive they don’t even have a sign on the building. You just know it’s The Kitchen. ![]() After your server gets the table started with wine or cocktails, the chef comes out to introduce himself, find out your dietary needs (diabetics, vegetarians, etc) and then prepares a 4-course off-menu meal. The last time I was there, I received a bruschetta truffle antipasto, a spinach salad with caramelized walnuts, cranberries, and tangerine slices with yellow tomatoes and topped with feta cheese, a smoked portobello and asparagus grill with sautéed butternut squash entree, and dessert was a 2die4 raspberry sorbet with fresh fruit and a chocolate glaze. The entire dining experience is about 4 hours. It's about $200 each with drinks but well worth it!!! ![]() You can order on the menu but what fun is that? ![]() I only go a few of times a year so I get a craving for it and really delight in every last bite! ![]() |

He is just amazing! Worth every second of every dollar. The same chef also owns a wine bar in the same area and has amazing happy hours with gourmet hors d'oeuvres – but doesn’t serve meals. I'm there almost every Thursday with a "rogue" group of wine connoisseurs! ![]() |
