My mom told me when I turned 40 that it would be some of the best years of my life and she was right.

The few years leading up to 40 I wondered if I would be one of those that had a midlife crisis, or if I'd be huddling in a corner crying...but my 40th came...went out to celebrate with family and friends- came home and watched Bloody Birthday....it might be a different story when I turn 45.

Who has found it difficult in dealing with your 40th birthday? It's really not so bad. On the otherhand, you'll be hearing a lot of words that end with the suffix oscopy. Bottoms up. |

It's just a number, and I don't feel like I'll be 40 on friday, but yesterday it seems like whatever i did or heard had something to do with me getting older. I got the blues very quickly. I'm better now, but i'm afraid for friday. I have no idea what is in store for me as far as who is planning what, but i think i'm going to run away for the weekend. ![]() ![]() |

I was grateful to turn 40, that was the year I found out I had Colon Cancer. So turning 40 to me was very good!! I have actually never had a problem with age, I do it gracefully
![]() Just remember, turning a year older means you are a year wiser!! Besides it sure does beat the alternative ![]() |

I spent most of my 30's recovering from my early 20's so I was thrilled just to reach the big, scary 40 back in November...it didn't bother me at all. I celebrated just surviving this long!
![]() I haven't found it too stressful yet. In fact, it doesn't seem like the past six months have been much different than the previous six months, or six years for that matter. ![]() I'm more excited to turn 41; the kid will be turning 18. Once he flies the coop, I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! ![]() I think I'm gonna thoroughly enjoy my 40's! ![]() |

It is just a scary, trembling, fast, spiraling death roll into the grave after 40.....Don't worry, be happy

I keep thinking if I ignore it(40) It will give up and go away.

And what is that? ManOfewwords....I think you look wonderful! Geez Phuque2...when you put it that way...honestly....THAT i don't believe. i do feel wonderful and i take care of myself. i feel about 33 and i would definitely not want to be in my 20s again. (unless i could do over with what i know now *big sheepish grin*) |

Who has found it difficult in dealing with your 40th birthday? 39 was harder for me, because it was the last year of my thirties, but by 40 I was okay with it. I had grown accustomed. I realized I have more power of mind and heart at forty than I did at thirty, and became glad for it. |
