I just finished reading The Ghost by Danielle Steel. I was one of the
best books I have ever read, it was filled with strength, courage,
bravery, love, hopes and dreams. The book just had everything in it.
Even mixed the 18th century to the present.

I am about to start Coming out by her. She is one of my favorite
authors.

So my questions for you would be, What book had the most impact on you?
Who is your favorite author?

Phillippa Gregory write amazing historical fiction. I enjoyed her books
so much that I almost changed my major to study the kinds of things she
writes about.

I've read three of Danielle Steel's books, and I liked all of them. She
is a much better writer than people give her credit for; I think a lot
of that has to do with the fact that her genre has a bad reputation --
perhaps deservedly so, in some cases, because there really are some
awful romance novelists.

But that's true of every genre, only people don't talk about it as much
if it's sci-fi or westerns or whatever.

The single book that had the most impact on me was either "Atlas
Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, or "The Antichrist" by Nietzsche. Can't pick
one.

The writer who has had the most impact on me was John Updike, primarily
for his "Rabbit" series, but also for the Bech books and assorted short
stories. His short story "A&P" is nothing less than a tutorial on "how
to write a short story."

Too many to choose.

Surprisingly, (maybe not) I totally agree with Lex on "Atlas Shrugged".

Nikos Kazantzakis follows a close second with "The Last Temptation of
Christ" and "Zorba the Greek".
