Yeah - just when y' thought it might be safe to go back in the water, here comes the EPA offering a CASH PRIZE of $2,500 USD (American money) to some lucky serf for producing the 'best' video explaining WHY we should all be grateful to them for their REGULATIONS ... Jeez. Y' can't make this stuff up ... one more example of 'Your Tax Dollars At Work' ... which means this is ripe for ridicule (see the link) ... the FIRST link is to the actual EPA site - the second link is the ridicule ... I wonder if these chumps and chump-ettes realize that $2,500 'prize' will be considered as 'taxable income' ... ? The more important question is: If THEY can't explain their OWN rules and rule making process, WHY do they think uninformed outsiders can do a better job than they can ... ? What's wrong with that picture ... ? This is like the chicken showing the executioner how to hold the hatchet ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.epa.gov/lawsregs/videocontest/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJueRvpAlKg Rulemaking Matters! Video Contest Explain rulemaking and win $2,500! Almost every aspect of our lives is touched by federal regulations. Even before you leave the house in the morning, government regulations help set the price of the coffee you drink, the voltage of electricity your alarm clock uses, and the types of programming allowed on the morning news. But many Americans don't understand how rules are made or how they can get involved in the process. This video contest is your opportunity to explain federal rulemaking and motivate others to participate in the rulemaking process. Create a short video, not to exceed 90 seconds in length, explaining why rules are important, why the average American should care about federal regulations, and how people just like you can participate in the rulemaking process. The E-Rulemaking Program and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Regulatory and Policy Management (EPA) will award $2,500 to the winner and post his or her video on Regulations.gov as well as the EPA Web site. To get you started, we've provided a fact sheet called A Brief Introduction to Federal Rulemaking (MS Word) (2 pp, 50K), which includes links to more in-depth resources. |
well,, innovation springs eternal.
seems equitable,,, considering the up to 2300 that individuals lend to political campaigns,,a political organization giving it back to an individual doesnt seem that bad... but, then again, I was raised not to sweat small stuff,,, |
