I have a book about square-foot gardening, and I'd like to try it. Does anyone have any suggestions about "little" gardening that may not be in the book?

Can't tell you what isn't in the book.... but I have containers because I don't have any land to dig up.
If you are planting in a smaller space.... sometimes you can plant things a little closer than the seed packets tell you. Don't be afraid to start seeds indoors to transplant outside... it's easy and saves a lot of money! Lettuce is easy to grow in small spaces... be sure to wash really well when you pick it! What else would you like to know? |

Containers work great! Dad's supposed to be building me a couple of standing boxes too, which will be nice. No more bending over, hurting my back.

Standing boxes are great !!! I first saw them on Mel Bartholemews show on PBS!!
They helped so much with my back too. I think it's a great way to garden!! I grow hanging tomatoes and some veggies in containers on the porch!! |
