I'm thinking about getting one but wanted to know what you guys thought of them. Anyone here use one?

I love real books, I can't ever imagine willingly trading in a paper book for one of those things. I downloaded a Stephen King book about a year ago, and have yet to finish reading it, because I crave the feel of the book in my hands, rather than reading if off a screen.

From what I understand, these ebook readers don't strain your eyes like a computer screen & are supposed to be a lot like reading a real book. Ever tried one?

Nope, I've seen them on tv, but never touched one.

Honestly, if you're willing to pay the $500 bucks for the DX, you should look into the iRex iLiad. I think you would be more satisfied with it.

I have no desire to give up real books. I can't see me ever wanting to get a kindle.

I also love real books but you cant deny the convenience factor. PLUS I love gadgets, I've been contemplating this one as well but just cant seem to fork out the cash for a gadget that only does one thing.

It's pretty convenient for me to just bring a book with me. I'm sure it will be a great gadget for a lot of people. Just not for me.

I agree - I won't give up real paper and ink for one of these.

But my mom has one and loves it. It's light, portable and holds lots of books. Also, if you come across a word you don't know, it will look up the definition for you. You can get any newspaper you want on it.
A negative, it is not back lit so you have to have a book light. (if it was I guess it wouldn't be like real paper)

One last thing is while holding it you tend to accidentally hit the "next page" button because it is right where you grasp the thing.
