Nope. I've been stumped for seventeen years.ohwell

I'd suggest NOT leading off with something like "I thought being a single parent would be easy" though. It implies you don't think much. Just my first thought.

Secondly, spend time with your kid doing fun stuff. Enjoy your life with her and the right one might notice you. I can't tell you how to find "her" but I can tell you what doesn't work...staying out of the dating loop for the sake of your kid. Make time for yourself when possible, and don't give up. It doesn't get easier when they get older despite what you've heard. It's a long tough road, so perhaps you should focus on being a good parent first and foremost and get out as much as possible when you can. That's about the best I can do for you. Good luck in your search.flowerforyou

Honestly finding true love when I became a single parent was not even on my list........noway

Sure I have loved those I have been with while being a single parent but have yet to find that true one......So guess after 19 years I'm not the one to give another advice in that area.

I feel it will happen if it is meant to be...... bigsmile

Now that my kids are grown I now feel as if I have the time to give to another. Soooooooooooo who knows what will happen........

My best advice is quit looking so hard for that true love when you hold it within your arms every day.......nothing more truer then a child's love!!!love

My experience. Single parent or not....you don't really find true love. It has a way of finding you when you least expect it.

Being ANY kind of parent is real tough. How you got the idea that being a SINGLE parent would be easy is beyond my comprehension.

As for finding "true love," that's another bag of confusion. What does "true love" mean to you? Most people I know, have ridiculous fantasies in mind when they look for "true love." Expectations of "everything is easy for us" (sound familiar?) or "life just flows our way."

You need more lessons in what the real world is, if you are still looking for "true love." REAL love is fabulous and achievable. I don't think "true love" even exists.
