You are everything I prayed for not someone down the road

She said “You make me nervous and just a little bit scared”
I can’t tell you how many times I been down that road
I am trying to protect my heart; I’m not trying to get hurt
I don’t know if I can see the place where you and I exist

He said “Take my hand and hold on to me tight”
Let love rule you heart just this once take that chance
I know you’ve been hurt I can feel it when I hold you
But can’t you see I just want to love you

She said “What if I’m wrong like I have been in the past”
How do I let go of all the hurt pain and distrust
What if I make that mistake again giving my heart and then it ends
