so , here is what I found,,,,,,founder name is dale robertson What is the Tea Party? The Tea Party is a grassroots movement that calls awareness to any issue, which challenges the security, sovereignty or domestic tranquility of our beloved nation, the United States of America. From our founding, the Tea Party is the voice of the true owners of the United States, WE THE PEOPLE. Many claim to be the founders of this movement; however, it was the brave souls of the men and women in 1773, known today as the Boston Tea Party, which dared defy the greatest military might on earth. We are the beneficiaries of their courage. By joining the Tea Party, you are taking a stand for our nation. You will be upholding the grand principles set forth in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Non-Negotiable Core Beliefso Illegal Aliens Are Here illegally. Pro-Domestic Employment Is Indispensable. Stronger Military Is Essential. Special Interests Eliminated. Gun Ownership Is Sacred. Government Must Be Downsized. National Budget Must Be Balanced. Deficit Spending Will End. Bail-out And Stimulus Plans Are Illegal. Reduce Personal Income Taxes A Must. Reduce Business Income Taxes Is Mandatory. Political Offices Available To Average Citizens. Intrusive Government Stopped. English As Core Language Is Required. Traditional Family Values Are Encouraged. ....not sure if they have PLANS for any of this,, but Id say some of the things are reasonable and some just a bit extremist (gun ownership is 'sacred'? , reducing all taxes while still balancing the budget?, average joes making legislative decisions? ) another great thing OBama has done though,, is make these DECADES old ISSUES suddenly the FOREFRONT of a whole political movement,,,,funny how that worked out(or why it worked out that way...) Ya know...your question/statement of " average joes making legislative decisions "... Why the hell not?? Aren't " Average Joes " the ones most effected by those decisions?? Wouldn't that be TRULY " representative "?? As for the rest...I agree with you for the most part. Some are pretty reasonable. Some are a bit " extremist ". @Dragoness... I agree that our taxes going toward essential services like firefighters and police is just fine. The thing is, they keep wanting to RAISE our taxes for things that many, many people would consider non essential. I may or not be one of those people, but it boils down to ( or at least it is SUPPOSED to boil down to ) what is good for the MAJORITY of the people in this country. Not a certain minority. I also agree that the illegal immigrant situation is a bit more complicated than the black and white language used by the tea party. However..." make them citizens " would solve one part of the problem, but add other problems. I would think there would be a way to reach a middle ground...but, unfortunately, none of our current crop of politicians is actually going to look for that middle ground. ______________________________________________________________ The " English as a core language " thing....well...I simply don't give a rat's *** about that one. People can speak whatever language floats their boat. It doesn't effect me at all. " Gun ownership is ' sacred ' "...Meh. I don't own any. I've been thinking about getting one because I have room where I live to make a small target range. I don't think people should have their guns taken away from them because it really hasn't worked very well in other countries that have done that. It REALLY wouldn't work here. I dunno. I guess I can't be a Tea Party member because I simply don't care much about a few of the things they tout. |

Umm...how about adding.. AND did basically NOTHING to get people back to work AND raised taxes even though people aren't working AND handed the health insurance companies a HUGE gift by requiring people to BUY it completely proving my point about TUNNELVISION. No. " Tunnelvision " would be denying ANY of the good that he has done. Being OBJECTIVE ( which is something that Obama supporters can't seem to manage very well ) is something completely different. |

Cosidering the majority of Americans know nothing or very little about politics.I'm sure those people who voted for Obama only know that he is the first black president and that he gave us totaly free health care to all Americans.Thats about all they know. AND made huge investments in clean energy AND invested in rebuilding New Orleans AND started mending bridges with other nations AND kept credit card companies from ripping me off AND made it so sick people can actually be covered AND lifted some of the restrictions on stem cell research AND extended unemployment benefits AND kept a nuclear waste dump out of my back yard(so to speak) AND....many other things the problem is obsession,, its not that people who voted for him dont read or keep up with what hes doing its that so many that didnt vote for him dont CARE what else he is doing because their tunnelvision allows them to only see the healthcare issue,,, All while running up trillion dollar deficits which your "tunnel vision" didn't mention. Is Guantanamo still open... R US soldiers still dying? Where is the TSA chief...and the list goes ON AND ON!!! 1.in my opinion, the deficit was unavoidable due to the state of the economy, 2. the president is not a DICTATOR he can get the ball rolling (which he has done on Guantanamo) but he has to work with others(and they with him) to actually ACHIEVE things... 3. Soldiers always have and always will die,,,OBama cant single handedly stop that,,, In the interest of truth, Re: no. 3-he CAN change that, being the Commander-in-Chief. All he has to do is order in the manner prescribed by the Constitution, and the troops can come home. |

You can not just end a war overnight. |

"That bumper sticker that maybe you'll see on the next Subaru driving by -- an Obama bumper sticker -- you should stop the driver and say, 'So how is that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?'"
-Sara Palin Not that I'm a big supporter of hers or anything but that made me laugh To get back on topic... I never bought into the hopey dopey vibe. It made me uncomfortable rather than inspired. Always felt like the overenthusiatic ebullient greeting of the gladhanding backslapper. I think this comment is very amusing coming from Palin considering that while she is attempting to malign this aspect of the Obama campaign, she is also doin' the same kinda thing - y'know? Doncha just see right through it? The truly unfortunate thing is that although it appears to be pandering coming from an obviously intelligent guy like Obama.... It is absolutely genuine cornpone coming from Palin....and,... that is almost all she's got! So it is just that my reaction is EWWWWW about both of these "messages" I give Obama a passing grade so far into his administration. Above average even - perhaps a B. He has survived the flood of military and financial excrement left over by some previous administration and weathered it albeit at a horrible financial cost. He missed the opportunity to eviscerate those who needed the bailout and TARP funds. These people should have had all their wages attached and the previous 8 years of executive bonuses collected and returned to us and have their executives put on a permanent austerity program. Like Bernie Madoff... Obama correctly identified healthcare as the single most looming drag on our economy and a completely non-functional social service at that - and he did something about it....although it is full of loopholes and half measures - it is a first step - a lame one - but perhaps all he could reasonably be expected to get with all the partisan warfare and certainly better than nothing. All that hope and change stuff is at best naive - and more likely a cynically manipulative jedi-mind-trick. Such tactics should be beneath him. Move along...We don't need platitudes. We need solutions to hard problems and the fortitude and integrity to pursue those solutions aggressively even if politically unpopular. Less BS and more foresight. Our economy is still at the brink of a precipice and we have squandered a lot of seed corn. The wound of the credit default swaps has only been superficially bandaged and it festers - a lot of people are still going to go belly up - losing homes and jobs. At least there is still a party every night in West Hollywood! VOYEUR - 7969 Santa Monica Boulevard, 90046 Now how did I ever get to be so hard to inspire? "Senator, You're no Jack Kennedy..." - Lloyd Bentson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRCWbFFRpnY "Well, I've been Governor of a small state for 12 years..." - Bill Clinton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta_SFvgbrlY |
