I am still searching everywhere to find the specific VERSE in the quran which promises 72 virgins in return for blowing folks up,,,,,

the more and more I read, the more I think it is some myth created to de humanize others to justify their mistreatment,, like when people were told black men had tails ....

Well I have never studied the quran(nor do I care to) but out of curiosity on the virgin issue and found this....

The specific Hadith in which the number of virgins is specified is Hadith Al-Tirmidhi in the Book of Sunah (volume IV, chapters on The Features of Paradise as described by the Messenger of Allah, chapter 21, About the Smallest Reward for the People of Paradise. The same hadith is also quoted by Ibn Kathir in his Quranic commentary (Tafsir) of Surah Al-Rahman:He gives the wives the rare honour of watching their husbands deflower those 72 Houris (virgins) and 28 young pre-pubescent boys.

no, I voted a ticket. I voted on the issues and the candidates responses to them. I liked what OBAma proposed moreso than what McCain proposed. OBama seemed to run a campaign with integrity and unity and McCains candidacy seemed mostly about his militay experience(and Clinton disappointed me with some of her dirty tactics during her campaign, or I may have chosen her).

I liked OBamas message, his intelligence, his answers during the debates and though I thought McCain seemed a nice enough guy, I just really didnt get a SENSE of what choices he would make about non military issues. His choice to run someone like Palin as opposed to others as his VP just reaffirmed the direction I was already taking towards OBama. McCain didnt seem like the healthiest person , so for HIS candidacy the likelihood of something happening to him seemed not so terribly unlikely and the thought of a Palin heading things scared me to death. So, yes, Palin was one of my reasons but far from the most important one or the only one for voting OBama.
