On Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2 a.m., Daylight Saving Time begins in the United States. The phrase "Spring forward, Fall back" helps people remember how Daylight Saving Time affects their clocks. At 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, we set our clocks forward one hour ahead of Standard Time ("Spring forward"). We "Fall back" at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November by setting our clock back one hour and thus returning to Standard Time.

It would make more sense (if there's anything sensical about this perpetual imposition) if this were done during the time of year when days are their shortest - THAT's when you need 'extended' daylight. The fact that there are still only 24 hours in the day doesn't stand in the way of the ones who make the rest of us wake up an hour earlier than is necessary. There are three states that do NOT subscribe to this madness. There's a lesson there for the states that have been stupid enough to adopt this infringement on OUR time. Problem is, no one has enough sense of outrage anymore to biitch about it. Sheeple ...

Man, the govt really just keeps trying to distract us. Cynical? Why, yes I am. "We're just changed it because blah, blah, blah" More than likely, someone..somewhere is going to get upset, complain loudly...it'll blamed on someone and then the media will make a big deal of it...while other things go on. Sigh. We all like that little diversity of time change because it brings a earlier/later move of seasons but really it's more like the govt is saying...see how we can snap our fingers and you all change your clocks? Don't mind me, had a good day.

Seriously ... ? In SUMMER ... ? That's exactly why this would make MORE sense when days are SHORTER - if it has to be done at all ... duh.

Thank you, Mark. I have two kids in school. Would rather my 13 year old daughter wasn't hanging in the dark waiting for the bus (FOR THE NEXT 3.5 MONTHS-it's NOT summer) the way things are nowadays.
