i got my mail when i came home and i noticed it had some guy name on it that i never got before and it was from a storage unit and of course the phone number was on it
so i called them to let them know he does not live at this address and i have no clue who he is.. they were pretty suprised the notice that came in the mail was just a remider. so they told me to forward it back which i plan on doing.. that was weird.. another one that was weird awhile back i got a letter in the mail from the welfare office for some lady but the address listed didnt even exisit so wondering how did that even to manage to get into my mail... and last yr a friend of mine came over and found a note from some credit loan place on my back door for this lady. and why would a credit loan place do that.. dont you think they would try and call?? and every so offten i get this one mail for a sue williams where triple a will send her junk mail.. what i found what was so funny one yr was a post card of a reminder for her dentist appt.. which the dentist happen to be my own dentist...LOL yes i called them to let them know i have no idea who she is. but if you have her number it would be nice to call her so she could change her address. |

It just may be someone you know who has lost their place. Or it may be a random pick of your address. Homeless people (maybe living a motel, in between homes)do this, use other peoples addresses but show up when the bill is due to pay it off. Maybe they ran out of money, things didn't work out so couldn't pay the bill. It happens more than people suspect.

When ever you start getting mail or bills from someone else at your address it is important to follow up and make it clear to the credit agencies and the cops that these people do NOT live with you and you are not responsible for their bills.
Just ignoreing it is a good way for someone to swipe your identity and run up a lot of debt in your name. Bill Collectors are not going to believe you didn't use a bogus name and use your address to keep the bills paid unless you can prove you didn't. A lot hearder than it sounds. Good reason not to give your address out over the web, sign up for contests ect., or not keep a close tabs on your own bills and credit status. |
