Is obama's 'change' and 'hope' what the American people thought it was? I sincerely do not think so...........I do not think the people who did vote for the individual expected to have a deficit in the trillions of dollars the first year he was in office. |

Err...wasn't the deficit there when he arrived?

This can not be undone in 1 year...and the GOP have done nothing to help nor have any viable plans of their own...pffft.

Err...wasn't the deficit there when he arrived? Errrrrrr not in the trillions that obama has created! You walk into a hole filled with ****, you won't be cleaning it up in a matter of minutes. More than likely the deficit will continue to climb, and guess who created it? Everyone blindly points the finger at Obama without any basis of fact behind the crude assumption that he created this massive debt. No, it wasn't in the trillions when he took office, but it was pretty damn close. It has been statistically and historically proven that Republicans put our country in debt, and the people vote in the Democrats expecting them to fix it, and in the past the Democrats did fix it...sorry, but Bush spent entirely too much money for a Democrat to fix. ****, even Clinton couldn't dig us out of this mess. Jesus, I'm tired of the **** slinging around these political forums, it is as if we can't make headway because of our current president when in fact we can't make headway because no one recognizes the honest to God problem. With that we do have a few that understand the issue, but unfortunately in this silly *** Democracy we need more than a few to fix it. |

It's still better than the McCain/Palin ticket, IMO. The recession had already started and would have continued regardless of what president we have at the present time. At least Obama tried to slow it down. |

I started this thread hoping for intelligent, honest opinion and debate....whether it opposes my opinions and debates or not........but it just seems that on this website, that cannot be accomplished.
People do not give an intelligent, honest, CIVIL response ...... with correct and current information and facts being cited ...... with nothing substantial to contribute........ This is my country and I love it and care what happens to it.......and from the current deficit alone, and the past year being spent on health care reform, that the public has SCREAMED out that it DOES NOT WANT obama's plan........it appears that obama just DOES NOT CARE....HIS EGO, TO ME, APPEARS TO BE MORE IMPORTANT TO HIM. Obama, on national television, has admitted that people feel that he seems to think that HE knows what is best for the USA citizens, and it appears that it matters NOT to him what the USA citizens KNOW IS BEST FOR THEM. So, someone PLEASE TELL ME....why does obama not listen to the USA citizens that have been speaking out so loudly? |

LOL...Karl Rove is over the corner screaming, "Not yet!...Wait to blame President Obama two weeks before the next election!" Even before Obama was elected he said it may take years to recover...and it well may. That's how bad a shape this economy was in when he took office. So far I see things changing. At least unemployment increases have slowed down. If we can get HC through that will help, because HC costs alone will keep us from recovering IF we do not get it. The Dippic's socialism was redistributing wealth...uh to the wealthy...now we need to level the playing field a bit. |

At least Obama tried to slow it down. obama has done nothing but increase the deficit to an ungodly amount.....PLEASE tell me how obama tried to slow down the recession? By doing what? Having a deficit so high that China owns most of it and even reprimanded obama for his outrageous spending? Even Germany told obama that his spending had to get under control..... |

As someone who voted for him and enjoys numbers (my associates is in accounting and my mother, with whom I have many discussions and whose knowledge and experience I respect more than anyone in this world, is a retired Finance manager with the government) ,, I did actually expect the deficit to go up quite a bit,,,from preventing the collapse of banking and automotive industries,,,
I also expected that some would feel spending this type of money to prevent the collapse of those industries was unfounded, I was not amongst those with such a belief. There was no way to please everyone, had nothing been done and we suffered a depression, this administration would take blame for that too. you can find VERY WELL educated economists on both sides of the spending argument and I believe in the logical balance ( that both sides have valid arguments). I believe OBama, his consultants, and many other politicians just agreed more with the side of the debate that spending is going to be a necessary evil in the fight to recover the economy. I agreed with them then as I do now. I am also expecting the economy to slowy recover, but I am relieved we didnt get to the point of an economic depression Like in real life, its one thing to be up to your ears in bills around the house, its different altogether if the HOUSE is going to be taken from you,,,,sometimes in a financial bend, obligations get shuffled, and some are sacrificed to tend to others.. |

Obama, and his way of doing, and the things he has done so far is about the purest form of "Dictatorship" there is! He seems to have the attitude that it's his way or no way...is that not the actions of a dictator? (OK...everybody, got your guns cocked and loaded? Let the firing squad begin! I'll stand real steal, and not move...take your best shot!) JMO-If I still have one! |

You post a topic bashing the current president and you expected what now? We all have seen these threads and how they degrade, on the first page alone I bet there is at least three. Look, when Obama took office the deficit was already spiraling out of control and even then it was said that it would take time to come back from...and that wasn't just from Obama, that was from financial analysts all over. Do I think he should of dumped money into the automotive industry and banks? No, but I am not in the position to say whether or not it will work down the road...you know? The future? The Great Depression went on for what? About 10 years? Yes, I know, we aren't calling it a depression...but what else is it? Personally, I don't care if it gets fixed or not, I want to see this country fall into anarchy...then, just maybe, we will quit trying to fix every single other country that doesn't do anything for us. |

Does one not realize how far in debt the USA is to China, just from obama's policies alone in this past year? Our grandchildren's children will be paying for it.... It is time to stop blaming President George W. Bush..... obama has been in office 13 1/2 months now.....THIS IS obama's DEFICIT, RECESSION, UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, FORECLOSURE STATUS, on and on.....it is time to ADMIT IT............and take responsibility for it.......and not keep going back to the beginning of time and blaming everyone and everything other than the REAL REASON for how things are NOW....TODAY....THE PRESENT...... If and when that is accomplished.....perhaps things can then, at last, be accomplished to improve the situation..... |

Whatever, but it is my understanding that you are not exactly liking any of the opinions that are against your own...which well defeats the purpose of a debate because there will never be a conclusion that everyone can agree on. Which reminds me of why I stay the hell away from this part of the forum. |
