Do people still have pen pals these day?
I write to people in Canada, Russia, China and Japan. I love it, I never instant message them and rarely email them. I love the anticipation of waiting for the letter to tell me what they have been up to and very often they will send me something that can only be found locally to them. I know many people love the world to be small these days. Everything is instant and you can virtually visit somehwere before you go yourself. I love the thought of knowing these people in various places across the globe that I have never met, but yet they are willing to share a little piece of where they come from via the post. do any of you write to someone you have never met? |

I used to when I was a kid. I had several pen pals and would write once a month or so. In pencil on a sheet of lined school paper
I can't imagine doing it now though with email being so much easier. Good on you for doing it! |

no pen pals, but in this fast paced age of instant gratification, there's something really special in a handwritten letter in the mail from a close friend or relative! good for you!!

I did when I was a kid. I had two in Japan and we wrote for many years. Finally we lost touch. I rarely hand write anything now though. I keep a journal and I write in that every so often, but mainly I type everything. My handwriting has grown atrocious because of disuse.....

My Aunt and I would write until realized how difficult it was for her. I love getting letters and used to send out alot more than do now. Seems theres only time enough for phone calls, really rather write. Being that as it may, email has opened up contacts from the past, which, for the most part..is fun. Heard from my first beau a year ago, that was a smile. Time traveling.

Off and on. Not great about consistency. I usually do emails more and then send little touristy type things like a Texas Yule ornament, or cards, and get things. Kinda fun too.
