how do you handle when someone gives you the silent treatment? I am rarely speechless so it's a concept I don't quite get lol.

Either throw a fit or give them their space. Depends on my mood. Lately, I've learned to do more of the latter, you have more positive results.

I've got 2 kids still here..one never shuts up the other never talks, it balances out pretty well.
That's all I got..I don't do people well

There are very rare times when I'm so mad that I'm speechless, but other than that, I speak my mind. So I honestly don't get the whole silent treatment thingy

Silence is very powerful. That's why some people use it. It's easy to lose your temper and go into a rage- shows you care and you might be able to be manipulated into different behavior if given what you want.
But if you just completely shut down and act like you really don't give a chit, that shows complete control. Besides, most people hate to be ignored, I know I do. |

I can't stay quiet long enough to use it on anyone though

Ugh! That seems so childish!
If someone tried the silent treatment on me, I'd just erase them from my life. I don't need that drama or to have someone in my life that can't communicate like an adult.

Hummmmmmm must be a Texas thang for I can't shut up that long either..........But.......when it is done to me then well I just walk away and don't talk to them either they will finally come around or they will stay mad.....
