Regardless i am tired of black women trying to meet european standards of beauty.

I'm tired of all women trying to meet ANY standard of beauty. Dangerous operations, self mutilation and eating disorders abound because of this issue. This is not a black or white issue. Nor is it even a female issue anymore. More and more men are being sucked into and damaged by the lie that one has to look a certain way to be attractive.

As far as doing their hair and makeup I think that is irrelevant considering most women no matter their ethnicity try to look their best most of the time so they get extensions, wear makeup, get their teeth capped or veneers and body work done...

Exactly. This is not a black or white issue. European beauty standards are impossible even for white women. I haven't been without color on my hair in 15 years.

Hello i hv a 2 part question. EVERY1 welcome to reply!

1. Do you think dark skin black women are portrayed in a dim mostly negative light by the media/ movies?

2. What do you think of dark skin black women who do not wear perms/ fake hair of any sort?

3. Who is the last dark skin woman who wore her natural hair who u thot was sexy? ( halle berry , tyra banks are light skinned black women - they dont count.)

Honest- unafraid ppl plz respond

1) Overall there seem to be only a few very dark skinned women portrayed in the movie industry. The roles/scripts are not there for the actresses in my opinion. Out of those few roles many are negative. The music industry is inundated with many negative images.

2) I think a lot of black women would look nice with natural, or extremely short cuts. Although hair texture for a black women can come in many forms it's all good. The hair care market maybe driving the image.(perms, weaves, etc.) A interesting documentary to watch: Good Hair with Chris Rock a must see....

3) Lauryn Hill.....flowerforyou
