 one of my assistants was telling me I shouldn't take my son b/c he'd just be bored and wouldn't appreciate the trip... I am now wondering about that... I'll have to talk to him... If I said "Italy or a flat screen for your room" I think I know what he'd pick...

Yeah, I think fancy vacations are a waste on children. These two had been all over the world, and nothing impressed them. I think it would have been better if they had waited til they were like 16 maybe before they went. At their age Disneyland is a much better choice than Italy or France.
Heck, I'm old and I'd rather have a flat screen than a trip to Italy, especially since I'm scared of flying.

Yeah, you might want to explain all of that to him before he decides to go. What would you do with him if you left though? He might not like a babysitter much....

I'll either send him to his dad or have my friend come an stay with him... Myka would do it but she wants to go so we'll see.. The cruises aren't even listed yet so can't even reserve anything... It'll be another couple of months before I can even see what is offered...

Well, I hope it goes smoothly for you. Sounds like a nice treat. I love traveling by train. I went to San Francisco and Santa Fe by train years ago and it was amazing. I'd like to go back one of these days...
