I've often thought of a day at the Louvre, a castle gazing trip down the Rhine, scuba on the Great Barrier Reef. I once skiied, surfed, and made love in the course of a day (with cooperating weather/waves the whole way)...but... ...I think a simple pinic in a grassy park (anywhere), staring into the eyes I love, perhaps teaching a little one how to ride a bike; would be about as close to perfect as I could hope for. How 'bout you? [/quote I have a 3 year old that would love to learn how to ride his bike! Perfect Day I have every Day....My lil guy always awakes with a huge smile!! Have a GREAT Day! ![]() |

A few years ago I had a leisure day. I wrote some poetry, picked pecans and took a walk in the back forty with the neighbor girl, to a waterfall.
Her: That big bullfrog's making a weird noise. Me: Prob'ly because that little snake's eating it. ...Smooth... |

going for a swim with my kids, playing football and soccer with them
at the gym, or tennis with them is high on my list these days. yesterday they got up early and school had a 2 hour delay. they wanted to turn on the TV and watch some garbage but the rul is no TV on schoolday mornings! so, we read Swan Lake and worked some math problems and I let my son do some of the cooking...he made "grilled cheese sandwich" and it was a very nice morning. ![]() I've had some pretty good days in Paris. Once, at breakfast, I met a stunning but dejected young woman from another country who was not having a good visit in Paris. She was staying at the same hostel as me but despite Michelin did not know where to start and had no one to share her time with...So I told her that this was completely unacceptable and invited her to share a day with me. Her name translated to "Violet" and despite the fact that I had a bit of a cold, she accompanied me for a day. We went to the Jeu De Paume, walked the Champs-Élysées, lunched at a street side cafe, Musee Rodin, and as evening fell we went to Montmartre, Pizza by candlelight wood-fired hearth on a red checkered table cloth to match the red wine...Watching over the shoulder of a talented charcoal artist expertly crafting lampoon portraiture. And we shared each others dreams and memories in a mixture of the different languages we spoke. As evening gave way to night, I took her to Sacré-Coeur where we overlooked the beautiful and glittering city at midnight, We held hands and snuggled on a bench before heading back to the hostel. The cathedral glowed white with supernatural illumination it shined and I dare say we did too. We exchanged small gifts and addresses. I was on my way to Zermatt and she was on her way somewhere else. Sadly. the airlines lost some of my luggage including her info and I never saw her or heard from her again...but we will always have Paris and a tender kiss on the cheek - a whisper that I had given her the happiest day of her vacation. I have a photograph of Violet wearing my tan dinner jacket that day and my tie and a smile i will never forget. Although I do not need the photograph any more, I still enjoy looking at it from time to time.... ![]() A view of Sacre-Coeur at dusk: ![]() |
