So I say hun more than anything, some people get freaked out by it and
sometimes i use it to be mean...so ya wondering if you guys say hun or other pet names. sorry if this is a stupid post. |

I say, hun, sweetie all of the time. I really don't see what the
problem is. I do understand that alot of people save that for their special someone. I use it for my special someone, friends and family. So far no one has asked me not to call them that. |

I tried that once...called a woman 7-layercakes...not doin' that again
soon... |

It makes me feel special, even if they say it to everyone else, its like
"OMG! they said hun to me!" And I need a cold shower after that |

I don't see any problem with it -- how does a simple little term of
endearment hurt anyone? One caveat -- we used to have a guy here who had a habit of calling all the ladies "sug" -- again, totally harmless, he didn't mean anything suggestive or lewd, it was just part of how he interacted. One of the women took offense to this, and the poor guy wound up leaving JSH over it (although he did come back, and left again over something entirely different). So I suppose there is always some slight possibility of someone reacting badly to "hun" or whatever. I wouldn't worry about it too much, though -- most of us are fine with it.... |

I was taught in school not to call my elders "hun, sweetie etc." But I
work with the elderly and I cannnnnnnnnnn't stop calling them hun, sweetie, etc. I think I need some sort of "support" group idk |
I say doll...or darlin..alot to my female friends!!!!!!
I say sweetie a lot. I call my daughter babycakes or baby. I call the

Gypsy, believe it or not, I usd to work with the aged, too (fomer
geriatric nurse) that is before they found out about my little stash of false teeth behind the closet. :) I used to always call the residents by their first and last names unless they told me otherwise. Being from NY, I find the South a bit informal for my tastes, but then I'm used to being ignored by most people unless they want my wallet or a good time or some of the hard ****... :) |
I like to say sweety and I think there is no need to freak out if some
talks sweet... :) |
I don't freak. I just smile sweetly and whack them with my bucket...
