Homemade Jamz Band out of Tupelo, Mississippi.
These young folks got the blues down to a T. They blew the crowd away. Taj Mahal was the headliner that day. He came out on stage and was watching them perform. Saw them in Pittsburgh 2 years ago at the Blues Festival for the Hunger Task Force of Pittsburgh. |

The Homemade Jamz Blues Band
They are from Tulepo, Mississippi. I saw them 2 years ago in Pittsburgh, Pa. at a blues festival fund raiser for the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. The lead guitar player and singer was 16, the bass player was 14, and their little sister on drums was 10. Their dad played harmonica. They had the crowd in their hand as they played their set. Taj Mahal was the headliner that night. he came out back stage and watched them perform. You can also catch them on youtube. Check them out, you will be impressed. (((MariJane))) So good to see you. |

Ever heard Junior wells? The late great who teamed with the likes of Muddy Waters, James Cotton, and Buddy Guy. A great singer, and harp player. If you haven't heard him, "what you waitin for Willis"?

Heh, met Leroy Parnell...he was with Levon Helm and the Barnburners at BB King's place in Memphis. Nice guy, so was Leroy. They did an incredible set together that night and I got to talk to them for about an hour in the basement...seen Delbert a few times, always a great show...last time I saw SRV was him opening for The Who show in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl...he did the Hendrix burn the guitar deal...it was awesome. Miss him a lot. Keb' Mo'!!!??? I was at BB King's 70th birthday party and saw Mo for the first time...he dressed like Robert Johnson and sang a song...I have all his CD's since then and have seen him 4 times. Dude is from Compton? Blew us all away...Mr Delta Blues... I recommend him to everyone...get the Just Like You CD, he won a Grammy for that one...essential for your collection. He does some R&B and Gospel as well...really well. Crap, youtube is down?...look later for Just Like You Keb Mo there to hear it...you'll wonder why you've never heard this! |
