A Brighter And Better Day

Years have slowly passed
Time has faded my scar
I taste the future on my lips
I know it's not that far

No longer forging through
I settle in one place
Taking each day as it comes
Looking in every face

I see people as they are
Knowing we want the same
Compassion has composed me now
I no longer take the blame

My lungs breath with ease
My heart pumps steady
Strength grows inside of me
My mind is ready

I knew it would all come back
My heart is really big
All the love came back in
No longer do I dig

I know tomorrow when I wake
My soul will no longer lay
I fell myself embrace
A brighter and better day
