Speaking in tongues is in fact available to Christians. In fact it
was the first thing the apostles did when they discovered the gift. You can also see it all through Acts, and Paul recommending all Christians do it first and formost in Corinthians. While seeming wierd at first, you can discover it to be have a very calming effect. Some theologians refer to it as "perfect prayer" because your spirit is talking through you. It just involves you moving your mouth and trusting God. God Bless! |

My opinion of speaking in tongues. People seek all kinds of ways to
throw off inhibitions. Some drink, some toke, some surround themselves with like minded people. Those who believe in speaking in tongue, are like minded and therefore a comfort zone is created in which to throw off one's inhibitions. |

I know someone who told me about her first time speaking in tongues.
She was praying for the people in her life and she started praying for someone and she said "Lord, I don't know what he needs" and then she started speaking in tongues. She said she looked in the mirror and watched herself, because she wasn't in control of her mouth. I haven't spoken in tongues yet but I will continue praying for a gifts of the spirit. |
