Bonds, Maguire, Sosa etc should all be stricken from the record books or at the very least have an * next to their names and an explanation about their using steroids when they hit all their home runs.

true, but in order to be absolutely certain, that would mean you'd have to throw out all and I mean all the records of the past 16 years.....and all the pitching stats as well....

question if a pitcher is on steroids and so is the hitter and he hits a home run, should it count...hmmmmmmmmmm

and should we bar all the fan with breast implants from the ball park, or those on estrogen meds...

If anyone uses steroids they need to stricken from the record books.

The number of players that have confessed or were proven to have used steroids are few. Hell, I don't even know if today's testing REALLY rids MLB of steroid use, or just makes it more difficult to get away with.

As far as I know, Barry Bonds has never actually been "caught." But only the truly blind or stupid believe he was clean. And he will never confess, as McGwire did.

I think the best solution is to put an asterisk by anyone's name who set a record in the 90's or first decade of the 21st century, denoting that the record was set during an era where steroids use ran unchecked in MLB, tho everyone knew it was prevelant.

It will never happen, but it would be fair to the guys who played prior to the 90's.

It sucks for the guys that were actually clean, tho I'm starting to think those were few and far between.

Just cuz you weren't caught, doesn't mean you didn't do it.

well hank still owns the record. for me what he went through in 60s gives him record alone. our world has changed, back in hanked day black and white teammates could not eat or sleep in same place.

Aaron made the record by consistently hitting 35 to 40 home runs a year for the extent of his career, these numbers were clearly within Bonds' reach, however the drive to be the best has only tainted his record and shortened his career.

as a kid. i listen to braves on radio. [if mother new would have been spanked.] i have done lots of research on hank Aaron. like must. i through Aaron was just a home run hitter. how wrong i was, he had speed stole bases. had plenty of singles and doubles. i also red. he never hit over 40 home runs a year. but just like hero i new Aaron was and still is. he never made any comment on bonds. that's class.

not entirely classy, he had a lot to say about mays...aaron just played too damn long to consider him the greatest home run hitter, I mean seriously he had about 10, more at bats then ruth, griffey, schmidt....he could hit no doubt, but griffey, mays and ruth were far better players.....but then again, Hank did go through a lot during his career, while mays was loved Hank was hated.

i can not believe you would insult a great man like hank Aaron. yes he played awhile. career would have been better if not for racists white people.

Insult, not hardly, he's just not deserving of the greatest home run hitter of all time, not with 10k more at bats then everyone else, granted he's one of the best, just not the best, and as far as an overall player he ranks maybe 70th of all time.....I wonder what Josh Gibson would have thought about all of this...By the way how many Homers did Hank hit off of Bob Gibson?...curious
