Miss America Pageant 2010 has 7 judges, one of which is Rush Limbaugh. Yup, you got it – the conservative radio show host that everyone loves to hate is going to be a Miss America Pageant 2010 judge. Although Rush Limbaugh as a judge is a little strange, I can see why he would jump at the opportunity. He’s critical, and he’s against feminism. You are usually very insightful but I must ask if you think he is not racist because someone that works with the same company as he does is black? ( Unless Im mistaken that Rush is an employee and not an employer). I respect that you havent found anything he has said to be racist but I just wanted to ensure that the lack of his personal racist statements (in your opinion) are what brings you to the conclusion and not merely that his director and fill in are black people. I know men who HATE the 'other race' but have no problem dating them. There are even those who arent fond of the race they belong to, so I think the race of the people one surrounds themself with is not as determinant of their racial beliefs as the CHARACTER of those they surround themself with.(IF , that is even Rushs choice, which I wouldnt think it would be.) |

first we have a black president. now we have a black miss America. the horror of the world. well, when it comes to objectifying women, I dont think its an 'honor' people really care to fight over. I think most have come to agree that physical beauty can appear in any skin tone(although lighter tones are still preferred in mainstream), they just dont all agree that capability , intelligence, integrity, or civility comes in all skin tones(unfortunately). The role of president however, is a different issue. |
