I just watched the following lampoon of "armageddon", and was wondering which elements are supported by the Christian Bible, and which elements are in direct contradiction of the Christian Bible:

Are the saved really supposedly going to ascend into heaven? And the unsaved are supposed to share the earth with demons? Is there really supposed to be a seven year war on earth after the rapture?

FYI, this is an episode of American Dad, which is an extremely silly and irreverent program.

I grew up Christian, none of it resonated for me at a very young age.
I consider myself a non Christian, have for 30 years. None of this is my truth....
It was funny watching the snow, I've never seen it before.

I'm guessing that most of what is portrayed in that show has nothing to do with the Bible at all, so its not anyone's truth - its fiction for all of us.

But I'm sure a few basic ideas were Biblically sound. Ascending? Demons? 2nd Coming? 7 year war?

I think much of it would be an exaggerated version of the scriptures. Many Christians take it very seriously...just not from an adult cartoon. lol

There has always been a battle of good and bad, light and dark, angels and demon..opposites. Always has been, always will be.

yes this is christian belief which some of it does come from Revelations. However alot of it comes from heresay commentary. Stuff that isn't directly mentioned but is taught in alot of christian churches is that the anti christ will have two generals to help him...which i don't see how a "powerful " satan needs two people to help him, this is propaganda to give legitamacy to the claims that Islam comes from Satan. In Islamic belief, one called the Mahadi will lead everyone in prayer when Jesus returns to earth. This is the Mahadi's only role.
Going back to Christian belief, there is supposed to be a rapture in which all of the so called righteous , along with children, will be ascended into heaven to spare them the tribulation period..the seven year period in which wars and unrest will be on unspeakable levels. The unrighteousness will be left behind.
Following this, Jesus returns , kills the anti christ, and begins his reign of peace. If you want to get a good idea of christian doctrine watch the movie series Left Behind.
