"this is where I learned not to talk to guys without pictures." Aww was it that bad? |
|

Well how "serious" is it if you only talk to a guy every other day via
phone and email? Is it worth it? Curiosity did kill that cat right!??! |

He basicly looked like a hobo, you know not well kept and looked years
older then he should have |

Bored, I have done this nine times.
Eight of them were the absolute worst train wrecks you can imagine, multiplied by a billion, so that's more trains than could ever be wrecked in the entire history of the known universe, forever, from now until Nixon comes back as a cicada, if not longer. No, I am NOT exaggerating. OK, maybe a little. Liars, arsonists, scammers, people who wanted me to let them take credit for stuff I wrote, I mean, you have no idea. But that ninth one -- well, sometimes good people DO use these sites.... But I think the ratio of train-wreck-to-good is probably more like 68,450 to 1, not 8 to 1.... |

I wouldn't be here if I wasn't planning to meet someone face-to-face.
Not interested in an e-mail only relationship. As for the "no pic, no answer" rule that some people here seem to have, have any of you heard about photo-doctoring, out-and-out photos of someone else, and Glamor Shots? I won't even get into the number of people here who have cartoons, pets, autos, and other things up instead of a pic of themselves. Or, for that matter, putting a pic of yourself up that was taken 10 years and 50 lbs ago. Sure, I don't have a pic up. That's my business. I will, however, be more than happy to send one to an e-mail address upon request. It is a pic of me at work, which will verify two things:1-I look exactly like my description on my profile, and,2-I am gainfully employed. |

Bored, I'm not even saying it's never a good idea to meet someone from a
dating site in person....although I certainly have the history to justify that idea. But I think we all need to be REALLY CAREFUL -- people can get away with hiding so much in a venue like this, and it is so difficult to detect until/unless you meet in person. And maybe sometimes not even then. I should also add that all of the experiences I mentioned in the earlier post were with people who were not from JSH -- I'm hoping that, if I should ever be in a situation to meet someone from here, it will not turn out to be Train Wreck Number Nine! |

HI bored,
Ok Im sure this one wont come as a surprise to you. I have met at least 300 people from online. But the way I met these people was through a chat room, and we all attended the same party. There was one held monthly for 5 years then they stopped. Some simple rules are If meeting alone make sure its a public place not a park somewhere where a lot of people are at Keep your cell phone turned on. Leave at least one friend know where you will be, have a prearranged code set up nothing obvious like help Have that friend call you, at a random time. If you ignore the call dont be surprised if they show up checking on you. If your uncomfortable dont be embarassed about giving a reason to leave quickly Stay safe look out for yourself first and foremost |
