why not help Americans?
what is food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, Pell Grants, and Welfare? |

Funny thing is, a vast majority of those programs are fed and loc funded. Our program, where we feed real meals to those unfortunate, relies ONLY on the charity of others. No a cent comes from any gov. I've had extensive background training in gov programs and know health codes and violations and we are impeccably(SP?) clean. We give out food also (emergency), referrals, clothing, blankets, hygiene items, even some dog food occasionally. We have one or two private benefactors and at times things have come out of our own pockets. WE make dinner for 70-90 a night (up a 1000 quarter than 6 months ago), people from groups and churches come to cook, and give out food for the one day we are closed. The govt run programs are wired by so many 'rules' and guidelines, it makes it impossible to get much done. Charity is alive and well in the US but not from your govt. 2 of our local food banks got their grants cut last year, imagine that? No food for the poor. And it was NOT the Obama admins who did it.... And those private charities that are not government run are so much more efficient at getting the most money from donations directly into the hands of the needy. |

I see the US sending planes chock full of food and supplies to another country, it irritates me. Not because I don't want to help others, but we've got people starving in this country, why not help Americans? If catastrophe struck the US, who would help us? Many would,, here is a small bit of information regarding aid after Hurricane Katrina,,, "Of $454 million in cash that was pledged by more than 150 countries and foreign organizations, only $126 million from 40 donors was actually received. The biggest gifts were from the United Arab Emirates, $100 million; China and Bahrain, $5 million each; South Korea, $3.8 million; and Taiwan, $2 million." Much of the rest of the money was redirected to american 'charitable'organizations such as red cross. The reason for only 25% is our neglect in ACCEPTING the money, its not because the countries werent following through on their promise. We were slow to stagnant in accepting this help during the time it was offered so that much of this money did go to PRIVATE charities instead of the government. I will correct my statement about the news to be more accurate. Just because one has not PERSONALLY seen or heard in the news about something happening, doesnt mean it hasnt. |

If catastrophe struck the US, who would help us? the truth is NO ONE . they are in the process of giving truck driving jobs to illegals now . there laying off the whites and hiring newbies .. to beat down your wages ...I find it funny when some worker tells me we are making to much when the ceo's get $14,000,000. or more a year . |
