A week before Christmas, my 7-year-old daughter broke her leg (her femur just above the knee). The doctors had to place 2 pins in it until it healed enough that they could be removed. It has been 4 weeks in a full leg cast. Tomorrow she will go back in for surgery to have the pins removed. Then, they will recast her for another 4 weeks. Please just say a prayer that there are no complications with the surgery or the recasting.

Praying for a speedy recovery. One good thing about the young ones, they bounce back much quicker than us adults do. The leg cast must be driving her crazy though. Take care. flowerforyou  flowerforyou  flowerforyou

Thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes that were sent to us. I know they helped me make it through. And yes, she is starting to get very tired of the cast, especially since she is normally a very active child.

My daughter came through surgey without any problems today until they tried to wake her. Then she was very agitated, which happens. She was given some morphine to calm down and once she settled a bit, she was much better. Now, she remains in this cast for at least 4 weeks and then with any luck her leg will be healed.

Once again, thank you all!flowerforyou

Congrats on the successful surgery! I know about that agitated state when they come out of the anesthesia. Prayers for both of you while she is in the the cast.

Cherie...prayers to you and your daughter. I have an idea what YOU are going through...when my 2nd daughter was 2 she was in a full body cast for 6 weeks...and went through it again when she was 10. Good thing kids are so resilient! flowerforyou
