What wasn't mentioned in this article was why male children are preferred over female? In some asia cultures, when a marriage occurs, the wife becomes a part of the husband's family. The eldest males is the one who is responsible for taking care of his parents. This practice of the children taking care of the elderly parents is common. Not to say this is right or wrong, but this with the combination for governmental restrictions and recommendations on limiting number of children has led to some major issues. Allowing females to be aborted if known about, or to be left out to die once born, is the problem. Limiting the amount of babies isn't bad. The idiots couldn't really expect that there'd miraculously be females floating around, if you killed off half the population based on sex alone... |
