Ohhh....ok.....

So...as long as a guy has KNOWN the black/African American person in question, it's totally ok to use racial slurs or make racist style comments about someone.

" Hey. It's ok for me to call him a ( insert 'n' word ) because I KNOW the guy. "

As a matter of fact, Reid went so far as to name all the African American people he knows.

Unfortunately, it's usually the WORST thing a person can do when they are accused of being a racist.

" I'm not a racist. Some of my best friends are black. "

Am I the only one seeing just how pathetic the excuse making for Reid is??

IN fact, it actually would be ok for people of any race who are in the same circle and FAMILIAR enough with each other to use words which may to outsiders appear racist,, such as the N word,(the same as if some people in a community happen to call each other S O B's).

Where your analogy is off is in the fact that he did not call anyone the n word. He used two terms referring to race; 'light skinned' and 'negro dialect'. Neither of these terms on their own are racist, they depend completely upon the speaker and the context of the conversation.

Really??

Once again....do you seriously think that, had it been a well known Republican that said those words, REGARDLESS of the context, that the Democrats wouldn't be screaming from the rooftops that it just " proves " that Republicans are racist?

Earlier, you said " How do we know they haven't?? "

We don't. HOWEVER, that is completely and utterly beside the point because, even if they HAVE said things like that...none of them have wound up in print.

Would Reid have taken it upon himself to apologize for saying it had he not been busted?? Of course not.

The double standard on this issue completely amazes me.

It's now official.

The Democrats and the Left Leaning will make up excuses or brush under the rug ANYTHING that causes their party be brought into the light and shown for what they really are.

Perhaps, and I am sure there are many people who are jumping all over him for having said what he said. I just dont think it was a big deal and I dont think the party could make a big deal of it (regardless of who said it) because of the fact that the VP has made the same statement before.

The only official thing I see here is the flag of the Republican Nitpicker Party flying once again. And that doesn't mean all Republicans are bad. Just the guys who holler about less than nothing. And this is less than nothing.
