By the age of 6, kids should already be in Kindergarten.
At least that's the way it is here in Michigan. If you think he's ready, then there is no reason not to enroll him. If he is an only child, then he'll need some adjustment time to learn how to deal with a bunch of other kids around at the same time. Why not give him a little leg up < so to speak > with that? |

No problem.
One other thing to keep in mind is that, if he already knows how to read and other stuff that he's going to be learning in pre school or Kindergarten, you really should highly consider enrolling him. Simply because, if you keep teaching him things while holding him out of school < which it sounds like you have done a very good job of > then the school " teaching " him stuff he already knows could lead to boredom for him. Boredom doesn't make for a very good student. |

If you can send him to school now, why not? Get a start on learning and socializing if he hasn't been in daycare. In Texas, Kindergarten is optional - I think!
