Don't have any expectations for the first date. Other than that, relax a bit and have a good time. As for those who have someone call them during the date.. if my date answered the phone during the first date, I'd be kind of turned off. If I heard anyone ever uses the colors blue orred in a phone conversation, I'd be livid

I have a friend call me at the 15 minute mark of the date. Now, I act like it is an important call, and within the first sentence, I issues one of two code words. If I mention "blue", all is well and the date continues. If I mention "red", then I start to get all wigged out on the phone because my friend will tell me that my PS3 is in a coma. Of course, once I hang up the phone, I tell my date that my friend just got hit by a semi truck, but he is ok, but I must leave. So basically...if a woman figures out how to convince me she isn't insane be 15 minutes, she is golden. So far, my operation has been successful. 
OMG! And, I have been worried sick about your friend ever since our date!  
Me too.....ummmmm.....yeah....he hasn't woke up yet....soooooooo....

Well, I'd see right through Goofball's "code," but because I hang out with alot of political dorks, hearing red or blue would NOT be out of the norm for me!! LOL....

Yep, I don't date, that keeps me pretty safe.

I let someone else know I'm going out.
I keep my phone with me at all times (on silent... i don't text or call during a date. that = rude) No alcohol, no sex, etc. etc. Who would honestly believe that your friend got hit by a semi-truck, and that he's okay? He would be in intensive care. :/ I would be kind of upset and worried about him afterwards... |

Are there any rules or guidelines you stick to for a first date Yeah I have a few. I tell someone where I am going. I keep my cell phone handy I keep the meeting in a very public place. I don't allow alot of physical contact on the first meet and greet. I look at meet and greets as just that then I figure we both will decide if we want to date.
I dont' share alot of personal info on my family etc. I dont' drink on the first meet and greet want a clear head. I think the biggest one of all I don't expect anymore than to put a face in the physical sense to the person I have been talking to and webcamming with. I do print out a still shot of the last webcam session since if that isn't teh person that shows up there is no meet and greet. yeah had that happen once or twice s omeone not looking like their pictures

I always let someone know where, when and who I am meeting and this is after many emails, and phone calls. I also show a few friends the actual profile so that way the person can be traced by the website to the IP adress. I know I watch a lot of CSI but it is helpful.
