“A LOVERS STORY”



She was only twenty, when she met a soldier, she had known since
childhood, but had lost track of over the years, but now he has appeared
again in her life. Immediately she felt the stirrings she hadn’t felt in
a very long time, they began dating, but the time was to short, fro he
had to leave in two weeks to go back to his unit in another country.
They spent what little time they had, together as much as possible. They
spoke of marriage and having her come to the U.S. to be together
forever. Then the day came when the soldier had to leave her side and
would only be known by letters being sent back and forth.


The soldier’s heart yearned for her, with every letter they exchanged
and prayed for his tour to end, so he could send for his friend to
fulfill the dreams they had spun together. Finally the day came for the
soldier to return to the U.S., having finished his tour of duty and
started making the plans to bring her to him, in the meantime, the
letters continued and after a couple of months, the letters from her
started coming farther apart and then stopped coming all together. The
soldier was really puzzled over this turn of events.


The soldier never heard from her again, but another person told him,
that her mother was against her daughter from coming to the U.S, wanting
her to stay there. He also learned that she had gotten married to
another, but she wasn’t really happy, the husband cheating on her, even
had a kid with the one he was cheating with.. A few years later, he
learned she had died, they found her floating fscr doen in a small
stream, thus the lady the soldier loved was now gone forever.


You may ask yourselves how I know about this lady and the soldier
involved, that is simple to answer. I was that Soldier. The lady was
from the town I was born in, in Austria, I traveled there, while I was
stationed in France, which was 8 years after the last time I saw her.
But it was like we had never been apart.
