I just have one, I prefer it over my first name. As for whether or not they went overboard, I think some things should be illegal, that's just weird to subject a kid to that.

I have one but two of my grans have two. I thought that was excessive...lol |

my son has 2 middle names (forrest patrick micheal) he was born on st paddy day and micheal was named after his dads bestfriend
my mom doesnt have a middle name so she uses her maiden name as her middle name but having 25middle names is way to insane

My dad doesn't even have a middle name. Neither did mine. I think they are mostly useful when people have common first and last name,, like Mary Smith, or Bob Jones. My name isnt common but I have a middle name which is. I choose to be called by my middle name(Michele) BECAUSE it is common and people dont mess it up as much as they do my first name. |

My dad didn't have a middle name either, nor did his father. When his father was talking to the so.sec. office the fellow asked him for his middle name, he said "Eh" because he didn't quite hear the question. Well You guessed it. His so.sec. card showed the middle initial of A.

 Adam is his first middle name. He was worried when I went back to my maiden name after the divorce that he would have 2 last names too
