Some Things

I, put some things away,
thinking, someday, someday.

The box became one, then two.
Two by two and four then, more.
I labeled trinkets and pictures, adored.
They no longer stayed as mine,
given to "Mom" then, finally time,
to give back with memory chimed
thinking someday, someday, someday.

Living changed a tender heart.
Challenges, choices decisions, to start,
What was important, I thought then.
Time became her long, lost friend.
What was saved held no thought.
Her own memories, distraught.
I thought, someday, someday, I hope someday.

We found the saved, I thought was lost.
Treasures, tender, my own cost.
For her and those I hoped would be,
something to remember me.
For I have found when all alone,
What I've cared and lived has shone,

I put some things, aside.
Perhaps, you'll find,
someday, some time.

Someday all the memories we've stored in boxes will be opened and become someone's treasure.Delicately presented.

sad that most things in our life time end up in boxes, including us...I think I'm gonna go see a taxidermist:)...I hate closure.

it was uneventful which suited me fine...and you?

mine, was with children and grands..first time since my husband died..so..good and ready for a long winter's nap..I think I shall write I my sleep.
