My son when he was 17 was with someone that did something stupid, and
just because he was there he got charged with the same crime. He had never been in trouble, honor roll every year, same job for 3yrs.So we just let the public defender take the case. The other guy paid for a lawyer, and let's just say things went differently for him.So I do believe money talks. |

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was
escorted from a courtroom and ordered back to jail Friday after a judge, overruling the county sheriff, said she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home. "It's not right!" shouted Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience. Earlier Friday, the 26-year-old hotel heiress was handcuffed and taken from her home in a black-and-white police car, paparazzi sprinting in pursuit and helicopters broadcasting live from above. She entered the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, without makeup, wearing a fuzzy gray sweat shirt over slacks. She cried throughout the hearing, dabbing her eyes, and her body shook constantly. Several times, she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you." Despite being ordered to serve the remainder of her original 45-day sentence, Hilton could still be released early. Inmates are given a day off their terms for every four days of good behavior, and her days in home detention counted as time served. Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the decision by Sheriff Lee Baca -- who oversees the county jails -- to release Hilton three days into her sentence due to an unspecified "medical condition." "I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," Sauer said. "At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home." Hilton's release, and the decision to allow her to serve the time at home, angered some local and state authorities and civil rights leaders who said it could interpreted as affording the socialite favors not available to other, less famous, inmates. |

Fair is Fair!!! Paris should be accountable for her actions, and
if she does the crime she should do the time... |

i don't think she should be locked up...but for different reasons than
most might suspect. as a celebrity, she will be in much more danger in jail, and it will be more expensive to keep her pretty little head safe. not to mention, the chance is too high that we could screw up and end up sued by her. the risks are too high for a non-violent crime. give her DOUBLE the sentence, and make her spend it in her house, no exceptions. |

Money and her blonde hair and blue eyes talked for the Sherriff that let
her go...BUT it wasn't talking when the Judge found out...She got sent back to jail and left the court room screaming!!!!!!!! I wouldn't want to be in the Sherriffs position too badly after disobeying a Judges order!!!!!!!!!! |

Lori they have a seperate section in that jail for celebrities.Martha
Stewart served her time with dignity and Paris needs to also. I dont know why people get so outraged about celebs getting off.Its all about the defense you can afford not justice.I feel bad for this girl because with all this money noone has taught her about right or wrong .I doubt she has ever had a hug either except from her nanny or the hangers on.hugs Paris and good luck to you. |

Yes I would think that she got thrown in jail for no license because she
lost it becaus of a DWI then got caught driving....Which means she breached her probabtion...So she actually is getting the same justice as amyone else would...And yes you're right cute...It's about the best defense brought forward...BUT some offenses depending on the evidence are hard to defend when they have you dead to rights and this would be one of them....She probably did have a hard life...BUT so have lots of people and justice needs to be meted out fairly and evenly and in this case it was UNTIL the Sherriff decided to let her go...That would never happen and should never happen!!!!!!! |
