I have very strange dreams. I wake up only to remember fragments of em' but thats all. Anybody know any tips on dream recall. I heard it's very theraputic to analyze yr dreams.

Tips To Recalling Your Dreams

Remembering your dreams will require some effort on your part. But what your dreams can offer and reveal about yourself is well worth the effort. Here are some tips in helping your dream recall:

1. Before going to bed, keep a clear mind. Having too many thoughts on your mind can distract you from remembering your dream in the morning. Tell yourself that "I will remember my dream when I
wake up". This is a proven and effective technique to help dream recall. Simply by suggesting to yourself or motivating yourself to remember your dreams will actually help you to better remember your dreams.

2. Have a regular bedtime and wake up time. Make this your routine. Going to bed and waking up at a regular time every day aids in dream recollection.

3. Avoid alcohol consumption, taking medication before going to bed or eating fatty foods too close to bedtime as these things can hinder you from remembering your dream.

4. Keep a pencil/notebook or tape recorder next to your bed so that it will be within reach as soon as you wake up. You want to make recording your dreams as easy a task as possible. Having a small lamp by your bedside is also a good idea should you wake up in the middle of the night and want to record your dream immediately.

5. Do not get out of bed immediately. Upon waking from a dream, lay still in your bed, keeping your eyes closed and moving as little as possible. Wake up slowly and stay relax. Hold on to the feelings you have and let your mind wander to the images of what you have just dreamt. Were you frustrated, terrified, or happy?

6. Write down as many details in your dream as you can, no matter how minute or seemingly unimportant it may be. Do not judge the content or worry if it makes sense. The idea is to get it down on paper so you can evaluate it later. Make it a habit that this is the first thing you do. Talking about your dreams to friends or participating in forums and chats also help you remember.

7. Sometimes it may help to draw pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words, as the saying goes. Even if you are not an artist a simple drawing can help to jolt details of your dream.

8. Learn to share your dreams and talk about them with others, no matter who seemingly insignificant. The more often you acknowledge your dreams and bring them into "reality", the easier it will be to remember them.

9. Don't get discouraged! At first, you may only remember a fragment of the dream. With practice and the more you work with your dream, the more easier it will be to recall you dreams. You will remember larger and larger chunks of your dream. Eventually dream recall will come automatically.

Now if you can remember to do all of that you probably have time to get the rest of your life in order too.

Half the time I really don't even want to remember everything that happens in my dreams. Heck, most of the time I don't want to remember half the stuff that REALLY happened (especially those partying days back in school).

im not sure if you know this but some of your dreams can also represent your pastlife.. its interesting..

i have had a number of dreams that have came true within 24hours-up to 4yrs.
i had a dream that my daughter was pg with her 2nd child and when i ask her she said she wasent pg 3weeks later she called me to ask me if i would buy her a carseat, thats when she told me she was pg.. i already knew it was confirm in my dream.
the one dream that came about after 4yrs. there was this guy i knew when my daughter was little and he moved back to az. and i didnt hear from him after that, later on i had met my son dad and while i was pg with my son, i had a dream about that guy, he was telling me that he was living in az in a brand new apt with a swimming pool, 4yrs later i ran into him, he had been back in town a year which i didnt know, and he was telling me the same exact thing he said to me in my dream.
we got together later and we were together for a few yrs, shortly after we had broken up i had a dream, he was telling me he was engaged and he told me her name and last name, i woke up from that dream and i called him at work and he didnt know her and he wasent engaged, i got to work later that day and on the timeclock it was also the menu and the customers names used when they used there credit cards, well the weird part was when i log in, i noticed that there was a customer that had the same last name that was in my dream,i didnt bother to go in the bar to see who that person was, i should had but i didnt.

I'm not scary at all. It's all done with smoke and mirrors. I'm actually a gentle softy.

For years I had stuff like that happen on a daily/weekly basis! One day it just stopped. Never understood why. Maybe cause I don't sleep as well anymore, or I just don't sleep well because of it?

There have been numerous times where I've recognized places I've visited but never been to before. It was because I'd seen em' in detail in my dreams.

my sister told me that my nephew was looking at this one picture as he felt very close to it like he had been there before.
my nephew had a dream about the neighbor grandma for we were all close to her she had died shortly before my great nephew was born, he said in the dream he was literly talking to her which he didnt understand untill i told him meduims talk to the dead.

I've had that happen before, but I used to party ALOT back in the day, so, I'm not sure of alot of places I actually did go!

Strange dreams? Yea, had one recently, and while you'd think this alcoholic had his share of drunk dreams, it wasn't the case, and in fact, in 6 1/2 years sober as of today, I've only had one such dream. About a week ago, it was a "skank dream", and in the dream, the one I really loved IRL, said, "Oh, you just wanted to get laid".. Yea, it was a horrible dream.

You should keep a journal next to your bed, and each morning you wake up date the page and write what you remember of your dreams. This way you keep a journal of your dreams and can analyze them later.

Just remember that dreams are memories of people, places, things and thoughts, kept in the unconscious memory, that come together in no particular order.

I keep pen and paper always next to my bed..also a recorder that I speak into.
I get much information from my dreams.
