looks a lot like you
baby smell no teeth
boys you dress in blue

two year olds are the worst
but still very cute
binky still in their mouth
as they ruin your favorite suit

first grade is here already
and another one is coming
I can't believe when I heard
this one just started running

diaper bags doctors office
are your essentials
you teach them this show them that
what are your credentials

ice cream cotton candy
mind so pure
sitting through the dance rehearsal
laughter is the cure

bringing hone their favorite toy
as they look you in the eye
for its the love they give
that makes you want to cry

high school is where they are
boy it came so quick
girl friends boy friends
I taught them how to drive a stick

college dorms credit cards
it sure cost a lot
I tried to teach them all I knew
I gave it my best shot

wedding bells fill the air
with a timeless memory
as I see myself in them now
and a new family

the phone rang late at night
to tell me of something new
its a little girl she shouted
