Just one more thought,
Christmas *CHRIST-MAS* IS A RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY.. So why do most that claim not to be religious celebrate it?? |

This is a double edge sword! We have always Celebrated Christmas *CHRIST-MAS* In our homes and public. But because Muslims or people from any other country move here, we are suppose to give it up. I don't think so. We are expected to let them practice their own religion, so why should we be forced to hide ours!! If they don't like it... go home. We can not practice Christianity in Muslim countries..will get a death sentence for doing so. Live and let live. But no, practicing ones religion does NOT cause a drop in a childs grades. it is taken into consideration and adjusted for. Yes, it's true that if the children did not participate in the program their grade would drop. I can't think of any other way to tell you this. I never said you should hide your religion. Never. I said it shouldn't be practiced in public schools. And yes, you are expected to let other people practice their religions because it's the law. Freedom of religion is what this country is founded on. Other countries don't. That's why you can be put to death there. However, Christianity is practiced world wide. Sooo apparently they're not all being put to death. |

even if people don't believe in religion, christmas is a time to be with friends and family. I celebrate christmas for that simple reason, a time to be with my loved ones regardless of religious beliefs.

[ If our school had a Hanukkah program, Id have no issue with my child participating or having to participate if all the other children had to as well. What if it was a Yule show and the children sang praises to the Moon Goddess? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have often wondered why SOME {please, some. Not all} folks who refuse to celebrate Christmas and insist on everything being called a "Winter Celebration" don't have their Winter Celebration Dec 1-10. But they don't. They jump in on Christmas and while enjoying all of the perks, they bellyache along the way.

December 25 is not Christ's birthday and it was the Catholic Church who placed it there to deal with the pagan celebration of Yule occurring around the same time.
So, technically it was Christians who stole it and all the traditional Yule customs from Pagans. |
