I've had trouble with that 'serve and protect' part too! Wanted to sue the dept but ended up letting it go...Hope your troubles aren't to serious.

Cop walks into my apt. I'm playin' Mozart...looks around at the stacks of books...examines the pages of the book I'm writing. Looks at me and says "What the f*** are ya' doin' here?" He'd NEVER understand.

I think that Chuck D of Public Enemy stated it most effectively...
"Yeah, **** the police - but who's stopping you from killing me?" |

The cops have never done anything for me,and the few times I have ever called them they treated me like I had done something wrong.

He'd NEVER understand. Something doesn't make sense. Sorry it happen to you. If you live in a crappy neighborhood you generally have to be careful about letting anyone know you have nice stuff. Sad but true junkies will just work down the list on addresses or see you taking something nice in and come back when they need money. |

If you put the issue into context, we might understand the problem.
My apt. was broken into. a crack-head stole one of my stereo's.
So, the cop shows up to take a report and treated you as if you were the criminal (?) We've all heard this, unfortunately! This same thing happens in "good" and "bad" neighborhoods (but obviously less in "good" neighborhoods). Stupid question on my part: Wouldn't a "better" neighborhood be in order? If "cost" is a concern, I'm sure there are competitive rates in the better neighborhoods (that's been my experience in Houston - of course, that might not be the same in all cities/towns). Not that that solves your current issue at hand, or that it resolves how the cops should have handled it. As with people in general, there are good and bad cops. |

I say you go file a complaint. I would. If the cop is being a d@@chebag to you, I guarantee it's not the first time. I don't know why people don't report cops more. It's why they continue on the way they are. Why do you think they become cops? Because they are losers that got beat up in high school and this is their only way to get power. As you can tell, I am no fan of the boys in blue.
