I have been trying to get SSI not SSD since 2008. I am being told that the process takes 2 years minimum just to get started.

social security disability has an automatic 5 month waiting period from the date that you first file

I fixed it

social security doesnt pay for non long term disability. the waiting period is to demonstrate that the disability is long term. it also pays retroactive to the filing date

My son gets SSI disabilty- it was 9 months from the time of filing to being approved-

you have to do alot to get it- most people are denied 3 times before being approved- if you are trying to work the system and/or are faking- they will find out- its a long process- you play by their rules.

is it really worth it to you?

In the meantime, I have heard there are hundreds of thousands of employers looking to hire people.

unless you're have ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) in which case it is automatic and immediate

but you have to be on dialysis to prove you have that
